PCI Express is an industry standard, and the most prominent interconnection architecture for I/O devices and other boards inside a computer. It is defined and updated by the PCI-SIG(R) industry standards body, originally formed in 1992 as the Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) special interest group (SIG). Agilent Technologies, a prominent developer and provider of test equipment at all levels yet not a competitor in the computer market, has played a key role in the advancement of PCI Express as a high performance yet extremely reliable interconnection scheme with very good interoperability among different-vendor equipment.

This talk will provide the following: an overview of PCI Express; PCI Express design and debugging challenges; Agilent tools for PCI Express development (physical layer, signal integrity and protocol validation); PCI Express electrical and protocol testing; and a live demo of testing solutions.
