CS congratulates Prof. Hagit Attiya on receiving the prestigious 2011 Edsger W. Dijkstra Prize in Distributed Computing, together with Amotz Bar-Noy and Danny Dolev, for their paper "Sharing Memory Robustly in Message-Passing Systemswhich" which appeared in the Journal of the ACM 1995. The 2011 open day of the Technion was held on Thursday, February 24. A great number of visitors attended the CS Taub welcome event and packed the lectures halls and labs presentations. Prof. Irad Yavneh, Vice Dean for Undergraduate Studies, gave a general overview of the faculty, and Prof. Michael Elad and Prof. Reuven Cohen gave lectures about their research projects.
