The International Day of the Arabic Language at the United Nations is celebrated every year on 18 December, the day on which a decision was taken by the UN General Assembly to make Arabic one of the official and working languages ​​of the United Nations.

Students from the Taub Faculty of Computer Science at the Technion recently developed a special app for the "Madrasa" project that will help Arabic learners. The app also includes a voice recognition component that will allow tens of thousands of students in online courses to practice their Arabic pronunciation.
