Subdivision schemes became popular in recent years in applications such as computer graphics and CAGD (computer aided geometric design). Their implementation is rather simple, yet there is a rich mathematical theory behind them. We will introduce two basic subdivision schemes, (corner cutting and the 4-point) and present implementation of them in computer graphics and in animation.
