Congratulations to the winners of the 2024 Faculty Programming Competition, who represented the Technion and the Faculty at the prestigious International Programming Contest ICPC/SWERC!
The competition featured 12 problems drawn from various fields of mathematics and computer science. A correct solution to a problem consisted of software that efficiently and correctly handled a range of cases, including special, degenerate, and extreme cases.
The top five teams solved 6 problems each and were ranked based on penalty points as a tiebreaker. The results of the top three teams were particularly close.
First Place: Daniel Ben David, Amir Borovin, and Lior Malka - Team "Benda & CO." (6 problems, 649 penalty points).
Second Place: Noam Goldstein, Anthony Slavin, and Amit Weissman - Team "Regatoni" (6 problems, 689 penalty points).
Third Place: Yonatan Elbaz and Ofir Shapira - Team "DP Lovers" (6 problems, 711 penalty points).
Special thanks to DRW for their support of the faculty programming competition throughout the academic year.
Congratulations to the winners!
