The Technion is the leading university in Israel in the field of computer science for 2025, and is included in the 101-125th place in the world ranking together with Tel Aviv University. This is according to the World University Rankings index published by Times Higher Education magazine. The index is based on extensive information that includes the performance of universities in research, teaching, collaboration with industry and international activity on a global scale. This evidence of excellence joins the Technion's high position in computer science in the CSRANKING ranking, which measures leading research publications between the years 2014-2024. In this index, the Technion ranks first in Europe (and 25th in the world) in the field of artificial intelligence (AI). In the general ranking of all computer science fields, the Technion ranks first in Israel, fifth in Europe and 34th in the world ranking.
"The ranking reflects the overall effort to stand at the global forefront of computer science," said Prof. Danny Raz, Dean of the Taub Faculty of Computer Science. "The Technion is an essential part of the Israeli high-tech industry, and its graduates serve in key positions in the economy."
Since its establishment, the Taub Faculty of Computer Science at the Technion has been a central factor in the Israeli high-tech economy, and its researchers have been partners in global breakthroughs in various fields.
