Google is launching 2011 "Google Summer of Code", a program dedicated to
introducing students from universities around the world to open source software
development. The program offers student developers stipends of 5,000 USD to help
them write code for various open source projects with the help of world wide
mentoring organizations and pursue academic challenges over the summer break.
An introductory meeting about Google Summer of Code will be held in CS Taub Building, Technion,
on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 between 16:30-17:30 during which
an engineer from Google Israel Research and Development Center will provide an overview of the program,
share tips for success, and answer participants' questions.
