The Taub Faculty of Computer Science News and Announcements
Prof.
Frédérique Oggier
from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, will give a Mini-Course at the
CS Technion: “On Algebraic Lattice Codes” as follows:
Monday, May 14 & Tuesday, May 15, 10:30-12:30 (Room 539, Taub bld.)
Lectures I and II: introduce number fields, lattices, and how lattices can be
built from a number field. The coding application is the design of modulation
schemes for Rayleigh fading channels.
Wednesday, May 16 (Room 401, Taub bld.) and Sunday, May 20 (Room 539, Taub bld.), 10:30-12:30
Lectures III and IV: explain how codes with a lattice structure can be obtained
from non-commutative algebras, and particularly division algebras. This type of
techniques has been popular to design space-time codes for multiple antenna
communication.
Monday, May 21 and Tuesday, May 22, 10:30-12:30 (Room 539, Taub bld.)
Lectures V and VI: present the problem of coding for a wiretap channel. In this
context, a new lattice invariant, related to the theta series of a lattice, is
defined, and unimodular lattices are analyzed in that context.
