Professor Micheal Elad has been elevated to IEEE Fellow and is part of the 2012 class of IEEE Fellows. The IEEE Fellow is a distinction reserved for select IEEE members whose extraordinary accomplishments in any of the IEEE fields of interest are deemed fitting of this prestigious grade elevation. Professor Elad was cited for his for contributions to sparsity and redundancy in image processing.
