Prof.
Seffi Naor and
Prof.
Roy Schwartz,
with CS grads
Niv Buchbinder and
Moran Feldman, received the
SIAM Outstanding Paper Prize for their
paper "A
Tight Linear Time (1/2)-Approximation for Unconstrained Submodular Maximization" which appeared in the SIAM Journal
on Computing (
SICOMP). The
prize is given to three outstanding papers out of thousands published in SIAM journals during the
three years prior to the year of the award.
