Data Driven Engineering @ Facebook:
At Facebook, we use data to understand growth, as well as identify and execute on enhancements to product experiences. Given hundreds of millions of users worldwide and multiple products across different domains, the amount of data is tremendous and analyzing it seems like an impossible task. In this talk, we will discuss core concepts to driving product growth based on data, and why this is important. We will demonstrate practical tools for analyzing your (BIG) data to reveal insights and act upon them, enabling you to experiment with different feature alternatives and measure the specific impact of any change in the code. Various related software engineering challenges will be deliberated, while we also hear about real-life incidents encountered by Facebook. You will also get a chance to hear about the exciting products being developed and the special challenges tackled in the Facebook Tel-Aviv office.
