In recent years, social networks have become an important part of our lives. Recent surveys (Facebook Reports Third Quarter 2013 Results) has shown that Facebook alone holds 1.19 Billion monthly active users. 728 Million out of them are daily active users. All these users interact solely with the Facebook cloud. A huge data center located far from their homes. By decentralizing the social network service we not only improve overall network performance but also prevent a massive data theft. In E-Wolf, every node participates in a Peer to Peer network. Large chunks of data are stored locally and tend to be replicated to nodes having low latency and high bandwidth with our own node. This property has the potential of reducing cross-ISP traffic since low latency and high bandwidth is often the properties of inter-ISP traffic. Storing all the data in the cloud is potentially hazardous. The cloud is considered a quality target since it hosts all the users data. There has been countless efforts to infiltrate it, some even successful. By decentralizing all our data, E-Wolf not only avoids having a single quality target that may expose all users data but also makes each node a much less valuable target for infiltration.
