Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) uses IT-based virtualization technologies to create classes of virtualized network functions, or VNFs, to serve as building blocks for complex communication services. NFV, with its ability to leverage virtualization techniques to run on standard servers and even the Cloud, features the ability to quickly develop and deploy new products and services, as well as a reliable, flexible and elastic platform.

The use of NFV can accelerate product development and reduce costs by moving away from the long and costly development cycles typical of specialized proprietary systems. This talk will discuss Dell’s NFV initiatives, including the High Velocity Cloud proof of concept, shown to cut service deployment from months to minutes as an example of its features.
