The CS team, sponsored by Google, won a Bronze Medal (came in 12 out of 44) in the ACM ICPC (SWERC) 2012 programming contest held on November 18, 2012 in Valencia, Spain. Google proposes the Anita Borg Memorial 2013 Scholarship - Europe, the Middle East, and Africa for excellent female students enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s or Ph.D. programme in 2012/2013. CS Faculty member and former Ph.D. student Keren Censor-Hillel, won the 2012 Doctoral Dissertation Award of the ACM Symposium on Principles of Distributed Computing. Keren is the first winner of this prestigious new award and she received for her 2010 thesis "Probabilistic Methods in Distributed Computing”, supervised by her Ph.D. advisor Prof. Hagit Attiya.
